It's nice to see our membership has their head in the right place.  949 yes votes and 25 no votes.  Sorry no's, put yourself in our brothers'and sisters' shoes, they need help and we ARE going to help them.  Shame on you for voting no.  This should have not been a consideration for anyone.  Hopefully soon we will all be working and Kone,Otis and Schindler will think twice before they try to disband our strong union.  Solidarity all the way.

Work safe.

today is a day i can say we are the best and f*** the rest.  after what happened tonight we all will prevail internationally.  emany believes that all are dumb and stupid;  each one of us know the truth.  so be it that all of us are not college educated in the corporate world;  but a reality check is when large corporation lose monies by being selfish and greedy.  we the little dudes make your Xmas bonus large.

i myself had been a student of a corporate world and went to college for engineering and a business/financing degrees.  i never finished due to personal reasons; but lived.  they all forget the little guy because they make the six plus figures and are all in a different world.

Money is greed; all we ask for is a fair life to live up too, the best we could do for our families.

You greedy corporate dudes ( besides the ones born with a silver spoon )  remember financial aid,  grants, scholarships,  work study and GSL.  we are educated and trained to do what we do best.  that is elevators and done safely as otis says they trained us.

So shame on you .  what goes around comes around............

BE TRUE                    jovan

Look at whats going on at Prudential 213 Washington st Newark NJ
one of kone's big jobs..

To:         Washington Street and Plaza Associates

From:       Michael Perrette
            Vice President, Facilities Services

Recently, elevator service interruptions have occurred in the Washington
Street and Plaza buildings.  Due to a labor dispute between the elevator
contractors and their union, supervisory personnel from the elevator
maintenance scabs contractor have filled in for the Qualified regular staff to service our
elevators. While this level of maintenance has kept our elevator systems
safe, service interruptions have been higher than we would like. Once the
labor dispute is resolved, we expect service to return to normal.

We also expect to move forward with our plans to modernize the Washington
Street elevator systems at that time.  A modernization of the Plaza
elevators is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of this year.

We realize that the current outages are an inconvenience and we appreciate
your patience.  We are doing everything we can to maintain timely service.
If you experience any problems with the elevators, please contact Jim Hall,
Facilities Manager, at extension 23073.

I read an article in the paper this morning that really heated my head about inflation and i started thinking if prices are going up on everything how come schindler , otis and kone won't give us the 7,7,7 we want. With the way inflation is rising we will need this raise and then some. The article is in the NY POST 4/21/05.

So to the greedy corporations stopping us from feeding our families and making an honest living you definitely should read about this. NYPOST.COM page 36 "Inflation soars in New York City". Lets keep fighting corporate greed brothers/sisters.

Hello men,the letters that we keep getting from these three dirt bag companies trying to explain there side is an insult to every member with common sense.Just because they went to college they think were stupid, as they try to explain there bull&#!@. An old timer many years ago told me when I was a helper back then, that its us against them. How true that statement is.So stay strong an we will prevail.

Subject: Otis Boston fatality
Importance: High

I'm sorry to report that Otis Boston helper Michael LeBrun was killed in a maintenance accident late Friday.

A longtime Otis employee, Michael died at the hospital after suffering injuries in a re-roping operation at 1 Beacon St. in Boston. Details of the accident are still being gathered, and we'll pass them along to you as they become available.

Otis Boston GM Eric Brodsky describes Michael as a person who was quick with a smile and friendly conversation. He was extremely well liked by his colleagues. Please join me in offering your thoughts and prayers to Michael's wife Noreen and his children Robert, David, Heather and Stevenhis friends and co-workers -- all of whom are feeling this loss very deeply. Funeral services will take place Wednesday, April 20, at  Brasco and Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St., Waltham, Mass. at 8 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, Waltham, at 9 a.m.

Tragically, this is NSAA's second fatality in less than 10 months.  We have processes that are the industry standard, we have a huge investment in training and we talk about "safety first" on a daily basis. However, our colleagues continue to get seriously hurt or killed -- a sad fact that no doubt frustrates and saddens us all.   In the coming days and weeks -- as Joe's and Edith's teams gather the evidence that uncovers why Michael died -- I challenge us all to looker deeper than we ever have before over why this still happens.  We can, and we must, do better

We owe it to our customers and the riding public. We owe it to our families. And we owe it to everyone around the world who works for Otis.

Thanks,

Todd

(Len's note: Todd Bluedorn has been President Of Otis' NAA Farmington since 2004. Trudy White is his secretary)

Stopped by the Riis houses today (Mon.) and talked to some housing guys. They said that the replacement scabs are afraid to come into the projects at night (not in Kansas anymore). They only work on the elevators during the day. No mod work is being done, but the scabs are working during daylight hours.
