card number 2383 Comments: First, Before I forget AGAIN!! Tahnk you to the negotiating team for all of your hard work!!! Also, thank you Brother McCourt, for your latest post. You know personally about one former Loc 3. member, who took a nasty hit for the team. I would also like to join Brother O'Brien in asking, "what the ****? If there were members that took jobs with signatory companies, whether through the proper procedure, or on your own, then God Bless, enjoy your new position. But to think that you can temporarily collect a paycheck with these shops while the rest of us suck EMANY wind, only to expect to return to your original positions without argument, then you got some nerve. It would have been better if you just came and spit in my face. Do the right thing. Call the hall, get on the bench, and WAIT YOUR TURN!! WORK SAFE, AND CHECK AND RE-CHECK YOUR JOBS. DON'T BECOME A STATISTIC IN THE NAME OF EXPEDIENCY. Returning to work is only nice if you're alive.

card number Tim Faranda's wife Comments: I'm glad the lockout ended and we will finally have an income again. My husband Tim is happy to be productive and doing what he does best. Tim has been in the industry for 30 yrs. We have gone thought several bitter strikes. Athough we know what it's like to be involed in a labor dispute no one is ever really prepared to deal with the uncertainty. We have been with Local 1 since 2000, since Millar was taken over. Local 1 is a great union. They really look out for it's members. My brothers are still in Local 3 and I wish there was 1 voice one union. How much stonger would the industry be if there was only one elevator union, Local 1. We felt that way in 1996/97 when we were on strike for 5 months (local 3). Local 3 has some good people but it's an electrcians union not an elevator union. As far as Schindler goes they are a paycheck nothing more. I'm looking forward to their 2300 dollars or so to help pay off some credit card debit, but their not fooling me I know they owe us about 17000 dollars. We'll take the money but as far as the Christmas ornament I think I'll send it back. After this lockout I realize it didn't come from the heart and Tim never liked it anyway. Good Luck to all. I'm glad I got to know some of you though this Web sit. In Solidarity, Pat Faranda Tim's wife
card number 2757 Comments: I am so depressed. Can we ratify what we ratified.?Can we have a do over,?Can we have a recount? Can we have a do over and a recount? and send a car to the homes of the ones who couldn't make it.I returned to work and it was like groundhog day.No Hello, welcome back valued Employee, nothing, they started shaking things up,laying people off,and letting us know they hate us.I don't get it,I don't get from the moment They locked us out , the anger and animosity that you could cut with a knife, when all we ever did was make these companies number one.The scabs left the motor rooms looking like a back alley abortion took place. They must not have redwings in where ever cause mine are missing. Now being I have small feet they must have been a gift for someones wife. I didn't expect balloons but I did expect a welcome back work safe kinda something.Yeah I know I live in La la land. I wanted to take this time and remind people how important it is to vote. The mayoral race and governor race is around the corner.I don't care if you like none of the the above, just pick someone and vote.I never miss a vote and voting rips me apart.I like the republican morals, and the way they support our troops,I do believe in teaching a man to fish instead of giving him food stamps to buy the fish, but I am labor and I have to support my future,so I don't care if Big Bird joins the race,We must have democrats in there,or one party becomes to big and we.... labor, suffers. And keep on fighting for what ever legislation you believe in.Acting Governor Cody heard us.I recently signed a petition for Veseans law and I have signed petitions for many things I believe in.Don't stop now.Do you know that Non smoking groups,Gay rights groups make up only 2 percent of the population but they win almost every argument because they are out there, non stop.I hear from smokers complaining all the time and I ask did you protest, did you write? call?No I ain't got time .well then shut the hell up and smoke outside.I also want to offer this,Anytime there is a vote,I will make myself available to pick anyone up.We don't have to discuss the vote.Thats private, but if you find the rooms are difficult to get to,I am 100% sure someone can and will take you, including myself. So no excuses from this day on.
card number 1613 Comments: Ed Pakulniewicz,
If your out there, what's your e-mail address?
card number 1122 Comments: After being locked out for three months, Brother Anthony Livorsi misses his first day back to work with some lame excuse that his wife Lisa had a baby on 6/27...ha, ha... CONGRATULATIONS ANTHONY AND LISA on the birth on your beautiful little girl.
card number 25441 Comments: to brother STEVEN JUNG,
Remember this Steven, you were not drafted by local one like a football player entering the NFL because you were such a great union man. Instead you happen to know someone already in. For me and alot of other brothers the guy that got us in worked for local 3. were we supposed to turn down local 3 because local one is better? Which I dont dispute local one is better but there are mutts in every job in every local and in every union. We had hundreds of guys that didnt vote I guess they were all local 3 guys. and hundreds not pay the $250 again local 3 im sure. You sound like you might not understand what you were talking about so hopefully I helped you get your head on straight.

card number 2178 Comments: I THOUGHT YOU COULD NOT GO BACK TO WORK WITH THE COMPANY THAT YOU WERE LOCKED OUT BY IF YOU WENT TO WORK WITH ANOTHER COMPANY? I THOUGHT YOU HAD TO GO ON THE LIST THEN THE COMPANY COULD HIRE YOU BACK ON THE 2 YEAR CALL BACK LIST? IS THATS WHAT IS GOING ON?
card number 2614 Comments: Hat's off to you MIKE DUFFY for running this site and keeping us informed. To all our brothers and sisters in the I.U.E.C. Thank you for your support. Your next. Get your websites up and running. Stay informed. Stay UNION GOD BLESS Pete
card number 1613 Comments: There have been a few post referring to 700 members that did not vote. Just to set the record straight, the number is approximately 400. Not that 400 is something to be happy about but it's better than 700.
card number 2178 Comments: I THOUGHT YOU COULD NOT GO BACK TO WORK WITH THE COMPANY THAT YOU WERE LOCKED OUT BY IF YOU WENT TO WORK WITH ANOTHER COMPANY? I THOUGHT YOU HAD TO GO ON THE LIST THEN THE COMPANY COULD HIRE YOU BACK ON THE 2 YEAR CALL BACK LIST? IS THATS WHAT IS GOING ON?

card number 1735 Comments: Brothers and Sisters I am pleased to inform you that the New Jersey State Department of Labor, Unemployment Insurance division is currently redetermining our members claims (ACCEPTED! instead of denied by applying the new law S-2264/ACS ) and will be issuing the new determinations and retro payments within the next few days. card number 14 Comments: I hope Brother Jung can explain what he meant by his post. Maybe it wasn't meant the way it sounds, BUT if it is, then his post is absolute BS. Brother McCourt
card number RETIRED Comments: Brothers and Sister's good luck going back to work and work safe . Remember watch your backs with these emany scum and remember who scabed against you. As long as emany has scum like Gutowski, Delany and Barret they will never care about the hard working union man. I think these scum should also be asked about their safety policeys durning the lock out.
Work safe, DENNIS DONAGHY AKA BOMBER
card number 2383 Comments: Maybe Brother Steve J. can explain what he meant by that comment. If it is meant as I think it is., then you are truly misinformed. To set the record straight, I am a card carrying brother of Local 1 IUEC, not Local 3. Millar is a thing of the past; get over it. And also for the record, we've already been through one of these, for 17 weeks and 3 days to be exact. Nobody was likely more prepared to expect a long duration of this lockout than us,.
card number 85675 Comments: This post is for Steven Jung i've sent you an email and you have not responded. What the hell r you talking about? I guess i'm not the only one that feels this way . So again EXPLAIN KID!
card number 108338 Comments: Dear Brothers & Sisters,
The biggest DISAPPOINTMENT of all is a large number of brothers & sisters had other things to do on one of the most important days of the next FOUR years. July 26th,2005 is gone, for you there is no second chance! For the rest of the members YES or NO, hats off for going to VOTE for your future. Brothers & Sisters trust nothing on your jobs, there has been 20... 30....40...... who knows how many people in these building?
WORK SAFE!!
Brother, Mario Vic
card number 1936 Comments: I like to give thanks to the officer's of Local One for all they did. THANK YOU. Thank you Mike for letting me post my Local One Forum Site (http://peterod.com/iuec1/index.php). Thanks to all the folks that came over and added to that site. I will leave that site up for all to use as they see fit and Trust me in four years I will still be here to keep it going. On another note those that were working need to send the 250.00. I don't think that with the ending of the lock-out means the 250.00 is and was not needed. I for one hope the local follows up on this matter.
God Bless the U.S.A. and Local One. |
