Comments: Local 36 Does local 1 have elevator licensing? And if so why is the licensing agency allowing non license scabs to work. stay strong .
Comments: I'm not sure if the supervisors working in NY were ever explained their rights involving strikes and lockouts. If upper management is forcing you to cross a picket line of economic strikers, it would be considered an unfair labor practice by the National Labor Relation Board. The same laws that protect the right of workers to strike also protect the right to honor the strike. That is why construction sites form a dual gate system when someone is on strike, No one can force or threaten disciplinary measures to any one to go through a gate where a picket is set up. Doing so would violate the Federal Labor Laws. Please feel free to contact the NLRB to check on your rights yourself. Remember, If it feels wrong it probably is.
Comments: FYI Letter dated March 24 2005 EMANY paragraph changed "Shortly before the expiration of the contract,EMANY was forced to institute a lock out and would like to be clear about why it happend" It now reads "Upon expiration of the contract,EMANY was forced to institute a lock out and would like to be clear about why it happend" Getting closer to the truth but still not there.
