card number 000 Comments: We invite Union Brothers to recycle used parts removed from mod projects destined for land fill sites and make a few bucks in the process. ElevatorExchange.com lets you list anything you want to sell for absolutely free. Their advantage over sites like ebay and Craigslist is that all of our listings are focused exclusively on the elevator and escalator market. ElevatorExchange does not sell parts directly. They simply link sellers and buyers to the best deals available across the US and Canada. Typical sellers include: parts suppliers and service companies with excess inventories (who want to sell for cheap), modernization companies (who want to clear out perfectly functioning components removed during renovations) and anyone else looking for an easy way to sell parts that would otherwise be taking up valuable warehouse space. Companies purchasing at ElevatorExchange include any elevator and escalator service, repair, modernization and new installation business looking to acquire parts and components for significantly less including used and hard-to-find parts that cannot be located by any other means. When you post, your email and contact info is not listed so that you can remain anonymous and avoid unnecessary spam. When someone is interested in purchasing your part, you will simply receive a notification in your inbox and you can follow up with them as you please. ElevatorExchange.com -- Find it for less. Post it for free. Sell it fast.

When his wife died, it was a tough time for him, but his faith, temperament, fortitude and grace enabled him. I used to play the guitar while he played cards with the other guys; he used to comment " When the Hell are you going to learn some new notes!' Rest in Peace, old friend.

card number 2727 Comments: have not been on here in ages, kinda lost that loving feeling, tried for so long to be that good union member, decent company worker but for what? to have a few good years and then get an uneducated slob boss who rose through the ranks because of who he knew,to be looked at and treated different, yeah, wah wah wah right? well thyssen was taken over by slobs ,the customers hate them and the only ones who will have jobs are the ones that drink with the boss.shady deals ,mechanics not doing maintenance and then the helper sent in to be beat over the head for poor maintenance after mechanic runs job into ground.mechanics blaming everything on helpers, never asking for helpers, doing everything alone, mechanics saying don't send me this one or that one, ruining peoples careers based on opinions.yeah its a great brotherhood, one female per office being watched more then others, being sought after cause 2 buildings don't like her,I've seen men get thrown outta buildings over and over but if its a female...get rid of her shes trouble, yeah its time for lawyers and EEOC,what a shame we still live in the stone ages, whatever happened to 3 letters of warnings, suspension, transfer,no today you may as well work non union cause they say hey gimme your nextel your outta here.but there relatives and Buddy's do what they want and always have a job, yeah i lost that loving feeling but i found a good lawyer.
card number 1179 Comments: Hello Brothers After a long hot summer, the winter season of the "The Villages" IUEC Retirees Club is upon us. As the snow birds fly back to their coops in The Villages, the weather seems to be cooling down a bit. We have a few added starters in "the Club". A couple of Brothers from the Florida Locals, one from the Washington DC Local and another from one of the Ohio Locals. We seem to be spreading out quite well. We also have Brothers from Palm Coast, Orlando, Tampa & Ocala. I've included several of our "Elevator Constructor" Correspondents in our mailing list with hopes that they might include a little paragraph about our "Club" so some of the Brothers from their Locals, in our area, will enjoy the fellowship that we've enjoyed @ our luncheons. It is apparent that an Elevator Man is an Elevator Man, no matter what part of the country we come from. And the best part of our luncheon is building elevators - no tools - just memories, of which I'm sure we all have a lot of, from our career in the Industry. Bro. Dick Noval from Local #4, Boston has made up name tags for all of us so we won't be guessing @ names. I'll email Dick with the names of our new members so they will have the tags @ the meeting. Bros. Ed Brock & Ken Kuhn reconnoitered the Country Clubs in "The Villages" and decided to have our Luncheon @ the prestigious Arnold Palmer Legends Country Club (the place won't be the same after we're through with it). The date is set for October 21st. So set aside the date & we'll firm up the time in the near future. That's it for now Brothers - MARK OCTOBER 21ST on your calendar and in the meantime - PLAY SAFE AND STAY OUT OF MISCHIEF Fraternally Frank Dolan, Sr.

Hi, I am a retired Elevator Man that had worked on both sides of the fence in the Western States (Union/Office) for 40 years. I have just finished a 6” x 9’ 240 page book “Elevator Man Stories”. The book is a collection of funny, colorful and serious memories of working the past 40 years in the elevator trade. Our industry now has a pretty accurate recollection of what it was like back in the 1960's, 70's and 80's. It was a different time working on equipment that required a high level of expertise. A must read for anyone connected with the elevator industry! It is now in publication and will be available for shipping in about two weeks. It is available for advance orders at ElevatorGear.Com and EBay 110584219029 And Amazon.com in the near future The price is $20.00 w/free shipping to US & Canada Immediate payment is not required Or contact me at: elevatorinfo@comcast.net I think you guys will get a kick out of it. Thanks & Work Safe, Jim Collett
