Dear Brothers and Sisters:
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. I am Gerard Lombardo, an active member of Local One and would like to inform you about a scholarship fund that is very close to my heart.
On September 11, 2001 my wife tragically lost her son who worked at Cantor Fitzgerald. As you can imagine, the tragic loss of Robert has marked our family forever, but we wanted to create a scholarship fund at his alma mater, Xaverian High School in Brooklyn, so that his memory would live on in a positive way. Currently in its sixth year, the Robert F. Tipaldi ’94 9/11 Memorial Scholarship Fund has given 8 young men the same opportunities Robert had to become a successful, faith-filled gentleman.
Robert’s mother, Stella and I would like to strengthen the Scholarship Fund so that several young men are able to attend Xaverian in Robert’s memory each year. On Friday, March 14, 2008 we are organizing a fundraiser at Sirico’s Caterers, 8015 13th Avenue in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn. It will be a dinner/dance with live music, DJ, raffles, etc. Tickets can be purchased at $100.00 per person.
If you have any questions, would like to make a contribution or donation, or would like to attend the fundraiser, please feel free to contact us at 718-745-4234 or via email at gmanlo54@aol.com. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your support of the Robert F. Tipaldi ’94 9/11 Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Fraternally yours,
Gerard A. Lombardo 1068 79th Street Brooklyn, NY 11228

card number 1347 Comments: Once again the Local One Pipe and Drum band did an excellent job on Saturday @ the annual holiday party!!! I would just like to take a moment and take my hat off to brothers Bill Madden and Dennis Steel as well as all the members of the band. The band sounded great and it was a good time had by all. These brothers and sisters put many hours of time and effort perfecting their craft and I for one sincerely appreciate their hard work and the pride shown by this talented group. Respectfully Submitted Brother Brian Link
