Just wanted to thank the negotiating committee for all of their hard work. We are so glad and relieved that this may be over soon. It's been a rough 3 months but we survived!! Although I will admit I really, really need my husband to go back to work cause he is gettin on my final nerve.. I think I am actually looking forward to seeing that big white van in front of my house again.

Our sincere thanks go out to all of the other locals for their generosity and support!!! It was nice to read all of the encouraging comments. Liz Nielson....every new posting of yours moved me, with me either laughing or crying...thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Greetings everyone   Hope everyone is keeping cool in this way to hot weather.  Well hopefully this lockout is finally coming to a long and awaited end.  I guess EMANY has finally realized that you are all VALUED human beings as well as employees.  You have all done a great job fighting for what you all believe in.  Hopefully when you all receive the contract it will be a reason to vote yes and put this to an end.  As always keep the faith and keep fighting the fight.

Hello brothers and sisters of Local 1 and your families. Over the last few months I have seen US as a union become EVEN stronger. In the last 3 months I have seen many brothers and sisters put their personal differences aside, and Band and Unite as brothers and sisters. I have also noticed wherever their is a STRONG STAND up brother or sister at work , they have a spouse  that is just as STRONG, unconditionally. My message is this, hopefully after this unfortunate lockout we experienced BY Emany we should realize a few things!!!!!!! 1) WE SHOULD AWAYS BE PREPARED  2) WE SHOULD ALWAYS BE INVOLVED, ALL THE TIME!  3) WE SHOULD BE AT EVERY UNION MEETING, NOT JUST AT THE SO CALLED IMPORTANT ONES. 4) STRENGTH IS IN NUMBERS, BUT STRENGTH IS BUILT ONE MEMBER AT A TIME!!!!  5) WE NEED TO REALIZE WHEN YOUR BROTHER OR SISTER AT WORK OR HOME NEEDS YOUR HELP???? PLEASE HELP THEM , AFTER ALL WE ARE FAMILY. 6) WE SHOULD ALL FEEL ITS NOT WHAT DID MY UNION DID FOR me lately?BUT WHAT CAN I DO FOR MY UNION!!!.Please take a minute of your time , brothers and siters and ask yourself? What can I do for MY UNION, MY FAMILY, MY COMMUNITY, After all Its up to ALL of us to make a difference.KEEP THE FAITH. UNITED WE STAND DIVIDED WE BEG. ALL FOR ONE, ONE FOR ALL. Local 1 IUEC will prevail.Once again thanks for your time. As always I remain educated, informed , proud and able to work. I am still an extremely proud Local 1 UNION MEMBER. On a personal note , I would like to Thank my wife Suzanne , who supports me unconditionally 24/7 whether I'm working or not . Respectfully submitted Brother Brian Link card # 1347 AKA King of the lengthy post, but thanks for reading GOD BLESS. My thoughts and prayers are with Gary Haynes and his family. May he be on the road to a full recovery

I can only imagine the cr@p our negotiating commitee had to endure during this long and arduous struggle. For this I commend and applaud each and everyone of them.As far as using a reference to a hand of cards to bring out a point, maybe it wasn't the best of choices but then again everything can't be taken literally.  Let no one think that I would be so cavalier as to gamble with anyone's future.  You have mistaken me with someone else that's holding the dice (Enemy).  I can only recall many chances of foregone rallies and meetings, 7/7/7, no GPS, no shift work, no hoisting givebacks.  One contract, one union, or twelve + weeks won't mean shite. It's a tough time to make a decision with empty pockets, but this is setting a precedent for contracts to come and the rest of the international as well.

To Ray and company, I feel confident in their abilities to steer this ship in the right direction and a good thought will be kept for each and every one of you.   In solidarity, Brother Brian Mac

Brothers and Sisters,

I am pleased to announce that Local 21, Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, has passed a resolution to aid the locked-out members of Locals 1, 102 and 125A.

We are assessing each member's next quarterly card $100.00.  This totals to approximately +$60,000.00.

It is very clear that the battle has already started and this war may last for quite some time.  What is taking place is a preview to what we all may be facing in 2007.

It is every Union member's responsibility to help out our brothers/sisters that are struggling through these troubling times.  This is what a Union is all about.  You do not walk by a fallen brother/sister and pass them by.  We, as a Union, stop to help them to their feet......and, then ask "Is there anything I can do to help you out?"  This is the dignity and pride of being a Union Member.

These members have been out for approx. 3 months.....

I AM CALLING OUT TO EVERY LOCAL IN THE COUNTRY....TO FOLLOW SUIT AND TO PROPOSE/PASS A RESOLUTION TO ASSESS EACH MEMBER'S QUARTERLY CARD FOR A LOCKOUT/RELIEF FUND, WHETHER LARGE OR SMALL, IT WILL SURELY HELP THESE LOCALS IN NEED.

Hats off to Ray, the Negotiating Team and all Officers of Local 1!

Fraternally Yours,

Wayne Misialek

President Local 21

Dallas/Fort Worth TX

First I would like to thank all the Brothers and Sisters that were out there every day fighting the fight. Without you out there this would have never got done. You all should be very proud of what you did. I don't want to name names because you know I will forget some but some of you I have already talked to.

Ray and his whole team did a great job this past 6 months getting this contract that we will vote on soon. I was there for most of the session and they worked hard and long days. We all gave up alot to get this done missing many family things but it was what we wanted and had to do.

Don't beleave everything you hear wait until you get your copy in the mail before you make up your mind. Read all the changes and ask all the question so you know what you are voteing on. Some people are saying we gave up thing when you have not read anything yet so wait. Enjoy the nice weather that we are having sit in the yard and have a beer or two you all earned them.

Again great job everyone enjoy.

Please keep Gary in your parys he needs them. It was great to hear yesterday that he was doing a little better.

Lets all give a BIG thanks to Ray and all on the Negotiating Committee for all the hours they spent on getting a tentative agreement, Hopefully it is something we all can agree on and get back to work. I guess the xtra profits they thought they could make by locking us out backfired on them by losing some of our customers that we enjoyed going to and providing them with a service. I will miss some of them but don't blame them for leaving hopefully they went to another Local 1 Co. not the competition. Maybe now they realize on the service end of this business you have to have the time to get to the customer and provide them with something to get something in return. Also last but not least I hope Brother Gary Haynes recoveres from his injuries and is able to return to a normal life.

G.P.S. = Vote NO

Flex start = Vote NO

Hoisting giveback = Vote NO

Less than 7% per year = Vote NO

Remember no dept should take a hit, thats the game they play. Steal from one dept so the other two say "that doesn't affect me". It does because your dept will be in the next contract. Stay strong, stand together!

The temperature on the street is rising, and they miss being clean and cool in an a/c office!

Just My opinion.

I want to congratulate Ray and the negotiating team. Its been a difficult and frustrating assignment. Balancing the needs of the membership with the demands of the companies. An overwhelming responsibility not to be taken lightly. I for one will read the new agreement carefully, for the devil is always in the details and vote accordingly. And I might add- this lock-out was designed to put us on our knees. They tried to intimidate and above all, they thought they could insult our intelligence. All I can say is - PROUD TO BE A LOCAL ONE MEMBER. See you at the vote and hopefully back on the streets.

Here comes my oscar speech.Thank you to  all the building managers, concierges, real estate and public for not being able to take it anymore.Thankyou to everyone who posts on this page, you showed them, you were calm ,cool and collected. Our negotiating team,They got slammed hard, this was a biggie and they rose to the occasion.Thankyou to the brothers and sisters who sent in the assessment, especially my brother, who not only sent it in early but dropped off another 250 to me,(so I could suntan)I'm kidding MIke,I went food shopping.Thank you Emany for finally accepting that your scabs are just that........scabs.Not only can you not replace skill ,but everyday these brave men and women have to trust a machine with there lives.no matter how many times you test and verify,no matter how safe you work, its a machine and you have to trust that when you want  it to stop ,it will stop.Feeling you signed because the heat was on,I hope you do take the time to realize the value of your employees.Together we can all make a profit. When we get back, some of us will continue to get on each others nerves but like 2 little brothers that fight all day ,when the bully comes along, they will band together.Enjoy the next 2 weeks brothers, cause  God only knows what we will find when we get back, and this summer is gonna be a hot one.SEACREST.......OUT
