12 PLUS I WAS TOLD THAT I WAS NOT NEEDED, IN THEIR WORDS ANY MEMBER OF LOCAL #1 THERE WAS NOT WORK FOR . I READ THEIR B.S. AND TOOK IT IN STRIDE ,BUT NOW THEY ARE FEELING THE HEAT AND I HAVE TO CLEAN UP THEIR SH.T, ANYTHING LESS THAN WHAT WE WERE LOCKED OUT FOR IS A SETBACK.THANKS TO ALL OF THE NEGOTIATING COMMITTEE BUT THEY ARE ONLY DROPPING THE DOG DAYS OF SUMMER IN OUR LAPS .THEY ARE NOW STARTING TO FEEL THE HEAT . LETS PLAY A LITTLE 5 CARD STUD .THIS SAME DEAL COULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN TO US IN WEEK 2 .DO  NOT SELL YOURSELVES SHORT. A CHINK IN THE ARMOR NOW IS A MAJOR SET SET BACK IN THE FUTURE.BIG BROTHER IS EVIL,LIVED WITH IT FOR 2 YEARS IN YONKERS ,IT IS TRULY THE END OF THIS INDUSTRY AS WE KNOW IT. PLS. LETS NOT GIVE IN TO THIS TROJAN HORSE THEY ARE NOT OUR FRIENDS,THINK OF THEIR TIMING ,LET THEM SWEAT LIKE WE DID THE FIRST 49 DAYS PLUS THE WAITING PERIOD.    GOD BLESS GOOD LUCK TO US ALL AND THINK ABOUT HOW MANY MORE YEARS TILL RETIREMENT WITH BIG BROTHER LOOKING UP YOUR ***. 

  I'm glad that everyone is sooo happy, but if they have "GPS" Staggered starts, and are giving us less then 7 % (for at least 3 years )There's no way that "I" can vote yes. The next contract EMANY will add hours for the "GPS" . It will also add a few more hours on the start times. This is simple math. It's called shift work. I feel the need to Keep our Unions future strong, but hey that's just how "I" feel... 

To All The Local One Members, Spouses, and Family,

Congratulations on a tentative agreement.  You have been truly represented by a team who have become your eyes, your ears, your emotions, and your heart.

It has been extraordinary assisting the members, gaining new friendships within Local One, and of course, Mario from Local 18!  (My husband Raymond and I will be having dinner with Mario and his wife when we visit Vegas in the future!)

Regional Tim Smith has become part of the Local One family.  He  has flown around the north east so much, that I want his frequent flyer miles!  Seriously, he is a true Union leader!

You stood next to the President and other Officers of the International on picket lines in pouring rain.  We have had some great comrades from different Locals hopefully enjoying the hospitality of Local One and it's Members and Officers.

Mike Duffy, you have kept the momentum alive.  You have provided not just a website, rather a place for Elevator Constructors to give information, educate the Members, gain lifelong friendships and more importantly keep history alive.

Of course we will be in the Union Hall this week to offer any assistance that is needed.  Again, my sincere congratulations!

How things could change in a day or two. Is the enemy feeling the heat after 12 weeks? Why have they all of a sudden came too there senses? Makes you think, WE WERE GETTING TO THEM!!! Great job from the TEAM..Lets see what the offer is and only until then we will see. Just remember we still have to be strong read it carefully and make your decision. I just want to say thanks too everyone who towed this line and we know who we are...AND ESPECIALLY TO THE MEN AT THE FRONT OF THE LINE..

Good news two times today, WOW! First I went to see Gary today and his brother in law told me that the swelling around his head has gone down dramatically and the doctors have noticed he has had some movement on the right side of his body. Keep fighting Brother Haynes. Secondly, that the negotiation team has reached a tentative agreement with EMANY. Please before all the rumors start wait until you hear from a reliable source to get all of your information. Thanks for all the members that stuck together through thick and thin. Your Local One Negotiating Committee is pleased to announce that we have reached a tentative agreement with EMANY on the terms of a new collective bargaining agreement. We are in the process of reviewing the contract language changes so we can get them printed and sent to our membership for review. You will be notified of the dates we will set for the contract discussion meeting and the ratification vote which is tentatively scheduled to take place on Sunday, June 26th. The return to work date will be the day after ratification of the contract. Please be patient while we work through the final details of this contract. We will keep you notified and informed of all pertinent issues with this new agreement.

Greetings everyone .  Has anyone who has a nextel been on at all today?  My husband after 3 months has just received a couple of text messages (which he has not been able to get for the past 3 months) and he was able to get on to Otis website.  Is something good finally happening here?  God how we hope so.  Thanks to Ray and the negotatiing committee for doing a great job.  Also our prayers and blessings go out to the family of Gary Haynes.  We hope he is doing well and will be back on his feet REAL SOON.

WOW, SOME STATEMENT FROM THE BIG GUY!!! EVERYTHING WE AS THE MEMBERSHIP WANTS TO HEAR!! KEWL!!                                                                                          

I want to thank Ray Hernandez for his oustanding hard work and his unconditional support and leadership for all of the members of Local 1. Ray I also wanted to let you know how important it is to our membership that you and the rest of our negotiating team continue to COMMUNICATE! WE are behind you 100%. I next would like to talk about a good friend , and fellow brother Gary Rieffenhauser. I spent some time in the union hall today, I dont think any brothers and sisters would ever BELIEVE how much Gary does for Local 1. He fields the calls, he makes the calls, he unconditionally supports OUR local 24/7 unconditionally! Gary is one of the finest men I have worked alongside, when I was a shop steward for Otis, Gary was such a Inspiration to me , he was always their for me. I just want the members of Local 1 to understand how much he does for OUR Local. I am very grateful for all the time and effort he gives to Local 1.I would also like to give a shout out to my brother and friend Tom Ginty, he is a stand up guy. He is extremely reliable and devoted to all the members of Local 1.I have learned alot from my friend Tom Ginty,our families mean alot to both of us. In the last 12 weeks plus of this lockout, I have found out what this all means, we are FAMILY .United as 1, all for the best interests of Local 1.  Their has been many brothers who have answered the challenge , Thanks to Tom Woods aka "WOODY", Tom Bues and Mike Penfield. THese fine brothers have made me extremely proud and I have never been around a finer group of brothers! Thanks guys for all you have done. You have never complained, you are ALL part of the solution! I am extremely grateful to be surrounded by such great brothers, Thank You. I remain educated, informed well trained and able to go back to work but not for less then what our fine brothers and sisters have scarificed for us in the previous years.Respectfully Submitted Brother Brian Link ,.......an extremely proud brother. dear brothers and sisters, for those of u who dont know gary haynes, i had the pleasure of working with him in westchester. gary is a stand up guy. he is one of the true good guys all the way around. my thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. please pray for his recovery.                                         brendan

It's interesting to see how often these companies lie with every correspondence they send us. I don't know who they are trying to convince more, us or themselves. They just want to justify their greedy desires. They sure have opened my eyes. What they have done here is managed to hurt every man & woman that they have come to depend on every time they are in a crunch. It goes beyond dollars & cents, its a matter of pride & trust. To Ray & the negotiating committee, keep up the good work,we're all behind you 100%. It's not an easy job but the right MEN are on the job.
