   SPENT SUNDAY MORNING AND AFTERNOON WITH MY WIFE AND KIDS ON A ROUND TRIP FERRY RIDE TO LOWER MANHATTAN TOURING  BATTERY PARK AND STOPPING BY THE WORLD TRADE CENTER MONUMENT. HOW GREAT A FEELING I HAD COULD NOT BE PUT INTO WORDS. I WAS AT 7 WORLD TRADE WHEN THE FIRST PLANE HIT THE TOWERS AS WELL AS WATCHED THE FIRST TOWER CRUMBLE AS I STOOD AT GREENWICH ST AND PARK PLACE. I EXPLAINED TO MY DAUGHTER WHO WAS 2 AT THAT TIME THAT A LOT OF HEROES DIED ON THAT DAY BECAUSE WE LIVE IN A WORLD WITH VERY BAD PEOPLE. SHE IS 5 NOW, BUT I NOTICED SHE WAS LOOKING AT ME SO I TURNED TO HER AND ASKED HER WHATS THE MATTER. SHE REPLIED AND I QUOTE" ARE THE BAD PEOPLE THE SAME PEOPLE THAT KEEP YOU HOME FROM WORK?"

   NEVER FORGET AND LEARN VERY HARD WHAT WE ALL ARE GOING THROUGH.TO RAY AND THE REST OF THE GREAT NEGOTIATING TEAM- KEEP ON KICKING ASS. WE SURE ARE NOT ENJOYING THE FACT THAT WE ARE NOT WORKING BUT BEING HOME AND SPENDING TIME WITH THE FAMILY IS SURE WORTH THE WAIT OF SECURING A BETTER CONTRACT THAN THE PILE OF ELEPHANT DONG THAT EMANY IS TRYING TO OFFER US.

   KEEP IT UP EMANY, THANKS FOR MAKING SURE THAT I WASN'T ON CALL AT ALL THIS WEEKEND. HOPE THE WEATHER STAYS REALLY WARM FOR YOUR SCABS. I GUESS THE ONLY THINGS LEFT IN EMANYS DICTIONARY THAT MIGHT BE CONSIDERED VALUABLE IS

Well enjoying the weekend with my family. Just finished my triple decker peanut butter and jelly sandwhich out poolside. Made my day when i saw that Ray rejected the offer, i think we are really showing Ray that we are behind him 100%. Do not even bring us back to the table anything but 7-7-7, NO SHIFT WORK, AND NO GPS....If its not that then dont waiste our time enamy. So i know meathead probably reads this evryday so let your peers know that we will not give in and starrett will never get finished. TO everyone in local 1 i wish evryone a nice holiday and enjoy the beautiful time with the families it is PRICELESS....STAY STRONG..

Shortly after the Civil War, a New Yorker from Waterloo suggested to a veteran's group that the graves of their dead be decorated with flowers in early May.This idea ("Decoration Day") spread in popularity throughout New York State and into other states through one of the principal groups of Union veterans.While the honoring of the wars dead was associated with desires to rebuild the Union, the Confederate states adopted different day for their own remembrance of the war's  victims. To this day, we find those states keep vestiges of Confederate Memorial Day ( Florida on April 26, Alabama and Mississippi on the last Monday of April, North and South Carolina on May 10, and Virginia on the last day in May).

     With the passing of the Civil War into history, the various commemoration of Decoration Day came to be memorials to all the dead, a sort of national All Souls Day.  It is interesting that sister death receives this commemoration throughout our land during the height of spring as it gives way to the fullness of summer.

     Since World War II, at the request of Congress, presidential proclamations for this day have identified it also as a day of prayer for permanent peace.  In 1971, it began to be observed on the last Monday of May, a long weekend inaugurating summer.

     Let us keep this holiday in prayerful remembrance of our beloved dead who have so generously given their lives for the sake of freedom, justice and peace.  And let us continue to work for peace in our hearts and in our lands.  Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

   emany has got to come to their senses sooner or later, when they do, we will return to work united, stronger and more determined to represent this union as only we can. Now is time to compile a safety checklist, to be instituted before we start working on any elevator or escalator. The "qualified" office staff that has been trying to maintain and fix our elevators and escalators are, in reality, for the most part, not qualified. An earlier post suggested checking for "forgotten" jumpers. Let’s post some more safety check ideas.

You know, all kidding aside, you have to hand it to the media boys at EMANY. Reading the bunk that they print up, you would think they are making these major "concessions" to the demands of local 1. The last time I looked, the only thing we were really asking for is a decent cost of living increase that we have been denied over the last 3 contracts. So what the EMANY "wordmeisters" fail to realize is that making and standing firm on 4 unrealistic demands is not an attempt at a fair negotiation. By the same token, simply changing the wording of one of those demands is not, by definition, a "concession". EMANY, to make a concession you need to be giving something up (conceding something). We have seen absolutely NO evidence of that to this point. Lets take a little stab at reality, shall we? I think the memories of your profits from last year are fading as quickly as your grip on the truth.

It was stated for the New Jersey Locked Out employees, that we should still be calling our unemployement in every week, so as to keep our claim going--I like most of the Brothers and Sisters I have spoken with, had stopped calling 3 weeks into being denied.  Will this now affect getting what is owed to me?  Would have been nice to see a notice from Mr Mets, or someone with knowledge to keep calling.  All we have heard was we were appealing ruling, and there was going to be a bill passed.  I was told at the april meeting not to appeal or start paying back unemployemnt (I had recieved a check, but was told I had to pay back).  Please, for NEW JERSEY LOCKED OUT BROTHERS AND SISTERS WHO ARE NOT RECIEVING A DIME SINCE DAY ONE KEEP US INFORMED ON A DAILY BASIS OF WHAT WE NEED TO DO. 

Keep up the good work, I am proud of this Union, and all that has transpired throughout the country with our International Brothers and Sisters.  WE WILL PREVAIL!!

There is nothing left to give you Emany. You are being foolish by trying to be stubborn.Don't you see that the union is 100% behind the negotiaton team. We are ready to enjoy our summer with the family if need be. we are now collecting money. not alot ,but I love that part of it is comming from you wether you like it or not. I now look at this time as a special time to spend with my kids. they will also always remember this time that I got to spend with them. No more give backs , we have given you more than what is fair.
