I couldnt agree more with brother Sammon, I have been on a nightcall list for over 20 years! Tommorrow is my wedding anniversary, and usually its a nightmare trying to get someone to cover. I am really looking foward to 3 days on a holiday weekend with my family! If you work nightcalls , you know whether you are on call at night, whether you tell Otis, Schindler or Kone that you are not available??? Isnt it amazing  how they call anyway? Hey Brian can you do me a favor? Hey Brian  we need you? Hey Brian  we really could use your help today at the Airport? We as Local 1 IUEC members always CARE ! WE at Local 1 always do the right thing! WE at Local 1 always take care of OUR customers. The real management types, that have taken the Pill, hook line and sinker, think Its all about money? No Its about doing the right thing! WE do CARE " Customers Are Really Everything" . Thanks to Emany we are losing customers, please brothers and sisters ENJOY your holiday ! I got 3 letters from Emany yesterday. They were dated May 7th, 11th and May 13th. Not only are they sending us lies but they are sending us old lies. I'm not surprised, theyv'e been behind the whole time. Stay Strong and have a happy Memorial Day Weekend!

now that we are receiving unemployment I hope everyone will stay the coarse. the Werther is getting warmer witch means more shutdowns. It also means vacation season so the supers from other parts of the country will need to get home to make sure there areas are covered. Lets not give emeny anything if they don't want to sign the same tentative agreement as the independents THEN TELL THEM WE WILL SEE THEM IN SEPTEMBER!!!!

I have received reports of problems when trying to get to the guestbook. I have been told that when you click on the guestbook, you get the EMANY site. I have heard from about a dozen members with this problem. A few members said if they hit the back button, then click on the guestbook, it takes them there. If you are having this problem, email me so we will have a record of who is affected and get to the cause. 

Local One IUEC member, Chris Perez, working in Boston, MA (Local #4) has informed our Local of the following:

Local # 4 (Boston, MA) member Ed Leonidis was arrested for distributing pamphlets in front of a scab workers house.

I just finished reading the latest garbage Emany mailed

out; Why did I read it? I guess for laughs.

They claim the union is keeping us out.

I guess they are starting to believe their own lies.

They locked us out but the union is keeping us out?

Once again they want it their way and their way only.

Let's get this straight Emany-We -The union

members are the ones who keep your business

going;Not the scabs and clerks who nothing about

elevators-or have'nt you noticed how much work

you have lost.

Your proposals are a joke; It is time you get real and

start negotiating in good faith.

We are standing firm behind Ray Hernandez and

our negotiating committee and will continue to do so.

NO GPS-NO SHIFT OR FLEX STARTING TIME-

NO HOISTING AND RIGGING CHANGES.

The quicker Emany understands this, the quicker

we can settle this unfair lockout.

I was watching the news tonight on channel 4 when they reported about the lockout.They reported that complaints are up about 29% since the lockout.Emany must be feeling the heat they reported that people are trapped in their homes because of shut down and non working elevators(great job scabs) the tenants of these buildings are fed up with the service they are receiving.Maybe now emany will come to the table with a new attitude and come to their senses.The way they conduct business with lies and BS is no longer accepted by not only our proud  UNION but the public itself.RAY keep up the great job your doing we are all behind you and the team.GOD BLESS LOCAL 1 and it's members.Have a safe and happy holiday.In UNION THERE IS STRENGHT

Dear brothers and sisters……

Inspite of the posture that these companies are trying to portray, (specially Otis) All is not as it seems. I’m certain that by now things are chaotic, personnel not used to the hustle and bustle of answering calls in all kinds of ungodly hours and weather and dealing with the myriads of problems, obstacles and inconveniences that we routinely deal with, are by now fed up with things and are probably turning on each other.. there is a word in the English language described by the Merrian-Webster dictionary as ..” returning the same way, or an action alternating” that word is Reciprocal.. Since the beginning of this lockout they had their way, they had the upper hand… tried in vain every trick in the book to put obstacles in our way. While it did do damage and cost us heavily in lost wages justice prevailed and we were able to secure disbursements from out annuities.. They never achieved what they wanted, which was to bend our knees to their demands. This so called productivity issue is nothing more that a cost cutting measure and nothing else, motivated only by greed.We've weathered the best they threw at us…NOW..we are collecting unemployment, we’re allowed to withdraw from out annuities and through personal sacrifice and the timely help from out brothers around the country, we have managed to survived…We should now let them cook in their own stew, let them sweat for a while.. let them deal with starting a third shift on a Friday night with 16 pending calls, multiple entrapments and only one man to cover all of manhattan.. Routine stuff for us; fer sure, but I’m sure a living nightmare for individuals who have never been on call in a city like ours. It seems like the tide has turned a bit.. IT is now our turn to perhaps push for a fair resolution to this conflict BASED UPON OUR NEEDS.

We made them record profits, we did what we were supposed to do, we sold, we soothed the irate customer, we sacrificed, we did our jobs and their profits are a testimony to that.

One of my favorite singers of all times (Janis ian)..in describing the woes of an adolescent at age seventeen ..used a term that strikes fear in the heart of bean counter in any company….That term was…”When payments due exceeds accounts received”…

I humbly submit to these companies to take notice, because you will soon come to grips with that concept and coupled with the fact that some of your best men might not be coming back to you…. It puts you  in a vulnerable position in which your competition is going clean your clocks…. Lastly there is one more word in this great language of ours that I have always associated with the company I work for.. This word describes,; in part, why David  was able to slay Goliath.. Once again The Merrian-Webster dictionary describes it’s meaning as…”Function: noun: a feeling or an impression of superiority manifested in an overbearing manner or presumptuous claims” …the word is Arrogance.

I exhault our negotiating team to continue steadfast in our quest, you’re doing an awesome job, our future could’nt be in better hands..And as King Saul and his sword bearer Jonathan fought an entire army and won, so will you persevere and obtain for us a fair and balanced contract….

                We are fortunate to be in a bargaining position. 

I don"t believe that 777 in thier face is practical to the public.My wife got a .15 cent raise after a year. I feel it unrepresenting and unrealistic to ask our union leaders to bring home a contract when we did"nt show up in november. Thats my peace...
