Anyone denied unemployment in NJ should write their state assemblyperson to expedite the passage of bill A3812.  Also write to Acting Gov Cody.  If passed, it will provide for benefits for anyone locked out after Dec.2004. You can see the sponsors of this bill and read it at this site:http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/bills/BillView.asp

The more people that write, the better the chance of something happening. Has anyone heard anything from Mr. Mets on unemployment appeals?

We all know that we are on week 10 and things look grim but hang in there! WE'RE DOING THE RIGHT THING! I want Ray and the negotiating team to know that they have mine and my family's support and gratitude for putting up a hell of a fight.

Q: WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ENEMA AND

EMANY?

A: Nothing! They're both a pain in my ASS !!

10 weeks ago we said no GPS! No hoisting changes! And no shift work! And 7 7 7! Why for the love of God are we giving them GPS blocking and 6-9 start [shift work] and for less then 777! If this is the case we just wasted 10 weeks! because they will get the rest in 4 years! If this is all true this could have been done 10 weeks ago! They only won't shift work to increase profits and that is not what I call industry productivity changes because the customer will still get there work done either way and without any cost reduction! IF SOMEONE SEES IT DIFFERENT PLEASE SHARE!

Dear Valued Brothers

10 weeks and I still haven't been able to last more than two minutes on the emany web site without losing my temper! If they had spent any time talking to the "valued associates" they would know we are not that gullible! Ray and everyone involved is doing a GREAT job!!!  We should not have to settle for less because emany management is not as efficient or capable as Thyssen or Fujitec! To quote Stephen Coonts we will fight the good fight just as long as there is any fight in us! Special thanks to Dennis O'Neill for keeping us informed, John Mancini for keeping us organized and everyone else at Terminal A for learning to walk on my right!

HEY WAKE UP ENEMY, HOW CAN YOU STILL THINK THAT YOU GUYS ARE GOING TO CHANGE YESTERDAYS RULES FOR BETTER PRODUCTIVITY TOMORROW WHEN YOUR NOT EVEN OUT THERE TODAY TAKING CARE OF YOUR GREATEST ASSETS THE CUSTOMERS. REMEMBER THE ONES YOU LIED TO, INFORMING THEM OF THE SO-CALLED STRIKE.

TO RAY AND EVERYONE GETTING INVOLVED, KEEP UP THE GOOD FIGHT, STONE WALLING ON ENEMYS PART ONLY MEANS ONE THING. THE LIES CONTINUE, THE GAMES CONTINUE AND JIMMY WALKER CONTINUES TO GET FAT, BUT HIS REPUTATION KEEPS SLIDING THROUGH HIS UNDER SHORTS.

NO GIVE BACKS OF ANY KIND. IF ENEMY NEEDS PRODUCTIVITY, LET THEM START IN THEIR OWN HOUSE AND GET RID OF ALL THE DEAD WOOD THAT KEEPS EATING AWAY AT THEIR PROFITS. THAT MEANS GETTING RID OF THE SALARIED PEOPLE WHO MAINTAIN THE FAX MACHINES, STAPLERS, XEROX MACHINES AND LAST THE COFFEE MACHINES.

NO GPS. IF EMENY NEEDS GPS, LET THEM START WITH THE SUPERS THAT ARE IN THE BARS, GROCERY SHOPPING FOR THE WIVES OR ON THE GOLF COURSES TEEING OFF.

NO SHIFT WORK. PERIOD. SOME GUYS JUST WONT SEE THEIR FAMILIES ANYMORE WITH SHIFT WORK OR EVEN FLEX TIME. OFFICE BLDGS ARE CURRENTLY STILL BUSIER IN THE DAY TIME, NOTHING HAS CHANGED SINCE HIGH RISE BLDGS WERE ERECTED.

NO HOISTING GIVE BACKS. ITS KIND OF IRONIC THAT PEOPLE WHO NEVER EVEN LIFTED A DOOR MOTOR WOULD PROPOSE CHANGING THE WAY WE LIFT AND HOIST OUR EQUIPMENT.

WITH THAT SAID, EVERYONE SHOULD ENJOY THE HOLIDAY, MEMORIAL DAY. LETS GIVE THANKS TO ALL THAT FOUGHT FOR THIS COUNTRY AND PAID THE ULTIMATE PRICE FOR HAVING PRIDE, ALLEGIANCE AND LOVE FOR THE STARS AND STRIPES. SOUNDS LIKE AFTER WE KICK  ENEMYS ASS IN NEGOTIATIONS WE SHOULD HAVE OUR OWN LOCAL ONE MEMORIAL DAY. THANKING ALL THE BROTHERS AND SISTERS WHO DIED WHILE FIGHTING THE FIGHT FOR LOCAL ONE.

Enemy you have alot of nerve when you say things like, local 1's lack of movement, or local 1's failure to negotiate in good faith etc... Let's clear this up once and for all. The negotiating is over. It ended the day 48 other companies decided the contract was not unreasonable. The only thing you should be going to the table for is to say OK, we came to our senses, this attempt to break the union just did not work. and sign the contract. Maybe before you do that, you should call THYSEN, FUJI, CITY, or TRANSEL and ask them how they are running their buinesses with the current contract. I'm just kidding, dont do that!!!!! YOU WILL LOOK VERY VERY STUPID. No surprise to them anyway, they already know that. Besides they are probably to busy getting acquainted with all THEIR NEW CUSTOMERS. ( YOUR OLD!!! ). You had so much loyalty from so many, It's a shame, that's all gone forever.      7 7 7  no gps, no hoisting, no shiftwork

Subject: A.7433 -- use of elevator technicians

May 26, 2005

Thank you for your letter regarding A.7433 which would require  the
licensing  of   persons   engaged   in   the   design, construction,
operation,  inspection,  maintenance,  alteration,  and repair of
elevators and other automatic people moving devices.

I have received correspondence from other skilled elevator technicians
also concerned about the recent lockout by their employers.  The lack of
negotiations are only increasing the possible harm upon unknowing
elevator passengers.  The risk is too great for companies and unions not
to use skilled technicians.

Therefore, this is legislation that I look forward to supporting.

Thank you for writing.

Sincerely,

we need to make it absolutely clear that g.p.s. is NOT AN OPTION!. I've heard some members say that "we can give them g.p.s." , " they're going to get g.p.s." "it's no big deal" etc.....

IT'S A GODDAMN BIG DEAL!, and if you don't think so, just ask the otis employees that had to put up with it.

(how about some examples, otis members?)

the companies will be on your back with this damn thing non-stop, every time you stay in the same place for more than 15 minutes they will  be asking you why. you will be told that you are not taking the most direct route from job to job. and you will be constantly reminded that lunch is 30 minutes, not 32 minutes. G.P.S is for tracking criminals, we are highly skilled and dedicated professionals and giving it to us is an insult, this c**p about efficiency and safety is being said by the same bunch that locked us out and tried to block any means we had to support our families, NEVER FORGET IT!!! IT IS A BUNCH OF BULLS**T!!

A number of our union leaders have even said that the companies would use it to create a large amount of frivolous arbitration cases each of which would cost the union $10,000 to fight.  at 5 phony cases a week, in 1 month it would cost us $200,000. this is not an option!!!

as far as shiftwork/ flex-time, YEAH RIGHT! for the risks and responsibilities we take on at work, we deserve every penny we get, not phony raises and small percentages for off-hours work.

Out sourcing our hoisting work is another stupid joke,  who the hell do they think they are kidding!

All of this nonsense is supposedly to let these 3 companies be more competitive, FUNNY THING, THE OTHER 50 COMPANIES THAT AGREED TO A FAIR CONTRACT DON'T NEED THESE NONSENSE CHANGES TO BE COMPETITIVE!!!!

WE"VE ALL SEEN THE PROFIT STATEMENTS FOR THE "BIG 3"

THEY DON'T NEED ANY OF THIS, IT'S JUST GOOD OLD CORPORATE GREED RUN WILD!

NO F***ING G.P.S.!, NO SHIFTWORK!, NO HOISTING CHANGES!, 7,7,7,.

The only flex time we should incorporate this summer season should be at the gym. As for shift work, the only shifting I will be doing is shifting over at the beach so my tan is even. And gps, only on my boat so I don't get lost in the fog this summer. Keep up the good work, as long as it takes. Thanks again for covering my families benefits.

Dear Brothers and Sisters:

The membership of Local 19 has approved a contribution to your Local Defense Fund for the amount of $5,810. 00.  This modest contribution is only the beginning.  Our membership has expressed that we should send monthly contributions to support all our brothers and sisters of Local 1 throughout the duration of the unjust Lockout by the Employers.  We understand that your fight is our fight and we may be next to face the unjust demands or Lockout from the Employers.  Support your officers and negotiating committee.  Your support and solidarity is their strength and the strength of your Union.  The membership is the power and the employers know this well.  Keep up the good fight, one day longer.  You will persevere!

In Solidarity,

The membership of Local 19
