card number 1671 Comments: Well as we all know this bullcrap has hit the 9 week mark
No more of those "VALUED" employee letters have gotten mailed (at least to our house). I wish I could go to EMANY and just slap the silliness out of them. Not that it would help (can't hurt though) but I sure know it would make me feel ALOT better....LOL
This is beyond ridiculous right now. It is more like pathetic and so very sad. How are these 3 companies still allowed to be part of a strong union. I don't know anything about unions, but boy they should be slappped with a couple of million dollars in fines and then kicked aside as they have done to all of you.
Lets see what happens Monday as they said they will sit down and negotiate again. Hopefully this time they will have come to their senses and see what they have been doing to all of you. God Bless and stay strong.
YOU WILL PREVAIL

card number 2325 Comments: Wanted to add my thanks to the brothers and sisters across the country for their monetary and moral support. What a great union we belong to. This weeks union meeting was just another reassurance of what we have, great leaders and great members. God has blessed this union.
card number 90970 Comments: To the Brothers and Sisters of Local One,
My name is Randy Giglione and I am a Business Rep in Local 8. I was sent to New York during week two of the lock-out to show our support to the membership of Local One. The strength and solidarity of your membership on the picket lines was unbelievable. During that week I was asked for the continued support of Local 8. This past week the membership voted to show that support unanimously with our donation. We have two messages to send along with it. The first is that we will NEVER forget or abandon our Brothers and Sisters of Local One and second, to the mutts of emany, you have picked a fight with Local One but you have taken on the entire I.U.E.C. and now you know it. Local One, stay Strong.
In solidarity, Randy Giglione 90970
card number 1179 Comments: I like to repeat myself, one of the few things I do very well.
Brothers & Sisters:
Brother Ray read a list of names at our Union meeting Thursday night of other IUEC locals, who have sent cash to our cause. Brother Ray read a list off of name of IUEC members who have sent cash to our cause. Thanks for standing with Local One IUEC at our hour of need.
Brother Carudo asked for the still working women and men of Local One to send in the $250.00 ASAP to help pay for the out of work brothers & sisters medical. Please do so today.
Once again thanks to everyone in the IUEC who has come to our aid.
We will not forget our friends or those who tried to hurt us.
Brother Tom Moore, Local One, IUEC
card number 90970 Comments: To Brother Colin Kowalski,
Local 8 Business Manager Patrick McGarvey spoke to Lou Schuler on Thursday and was assured by Lou that he was not going to New York. At this time we are comfortable with that. However if anyone has any proof to the contrary, do not hesitate to call an agent at Local 8. (415 285-2900)
In Solidarity, Randy Giglione Business Representative Local 8
card number 8517 Comments: Dear brothers and sisters of I.U.E.C.
I am a former card holder of the IBEW elevator division Local 3 of NY city. I held this card for 27 years. As an employee of Millar Elevator I can say I was a little nervous about the merger with Schindler Elevator. Today I can't be more proud of what I've become, A member of I.U.E.C.,Local One. In Local 3 while on strike Local 3 Electricians crossed our pickett lines. We were shocked. Our BA'S said it was not their (the electritians) concern. Yeah right, but they took our dues easy enough. As a member of Local 1 durning this lockout I am overwhelmed by the support of all I.U.E.C. locals across the country. My local Local,Local 1 has each working member donating to help pay our medical insurance Thank you. Thankyou to all the sisters and brothers from around the country who are supporting us and helping our cause. We will never forget. Thankyou Philly and boston(even though your red sox fans) for all your help at the rally's. We'll have your backs when your contracts are up. New York will set a precident against the manufacturing companies. Our contract is your contract. When your your time comes we will be there.
Thank you all so much We will prevail
Tim Faranda
card number 1386 Comments: JUST A NOTE TO ALL OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS FROM AROUND THE COUNTRY. WE ALL ARE GRATEFUL FOR YOUR GENEROSITY AND SUPPORT. IN THESE MOST DIFFICULT TIMES IT IS VERY UPLIFTING AND GIVES US THE STRENGTH TO GO ON. THANK YOU ALL. PROUD TO BE I.U.E.C.
card number 2367 Comments: On May 10th, Kevin Barry wrote a comment stating that he saw Kone scabs working on a escalator at the Staten Island ferry. He said he took their pictures and one name was Larry Messita. That's my name and I want to know how my name got confused with some f#*king scabs name!If this scab is using my name I want to know!If anyone has any info please post it so I can straighten this out.
card number 5778 Comments: The way you guys are acting has made me loose a lot of respect for this organization. Beating people up, vandalism. The IUEC is one organization I dont think ANYONE would want to be a part of. Can someone tell me what you guys are REALLY doing about this other than complaining on the internet that they are the ENEMY, or using other names that show no maturity or intelligence (that you often claim to have). Looking from the outside you just seem like a bunch of thugs trying to make more money than you deserve.
card number 2358 Comments: F.Y.I. UPDATE MAY17,2005
MYTH-EMANY PLANNED THIS LOCKOUT MONTHS PRIOR FACT-EMANY HELD OUT HOPE THAT THIS MEMBERSHIP WOULD STRIKE. IN FACT THEY NOTIFIED ALL THEIR CUSTOMERS THAT WE DID STRIKE EMANY. IN THE DAYS LEADING TO THE EXPIRING CONTRACT RAY HERNANDEZ TOLD EMANY HE WAS THERE TO GET A CONTRACT DONE AND THE MEMBERSHIP WAS TOLD TO REPORT TO WORK THE NEXT DAY. ALLEGATIONS OF STRIKE ACTIVITY, REFUSING CALL BACKS, ETC, ETC, ARE ALL LIES. JIMMY WALKER HAD NO PROOF OR KNOWLEDGE AND EMANY FAILED TO FOLLOW THE PROPER GRIEVANCE PROCESS. MYTH-EMANY IS TRYING TO BUST THE UNION FACT-FOR EMANY TO SOLIDIFY THEIR COMPETITIVE POSITION IN N.Y. AND N.J. WE MUST SET UP A PAC FUND WITH WEEKLY PAYROLL DEDUCTIONS TO STOP THE NON-UNION THREAT THAT EMANY NOW EMPLOYS TO PERFORM SUBPAR MAINT AT NIGHT IN BLDGS THAT ARE AFFECTED BY THIS LOCKOUT. DOUBLE TALK IS CHEAP. LETS GET THE PAC FUND AND THE ELEVATOR SAFETY BILL GOING, THEN WITH THE LOCAL ONE UNION AND THE MEMBERSHIP, EMANY CAN NOW SOLIDIFY THEIR COMPETENCY IN N.Y. AND N.J. MYTH-EMANY REFUSES TO NEGOTIATE WITH LOCAL ONE AND WALKED AWAY FROM THE TABLE ON MAY 6. FACT-WHEN OTHER THAN MAY6 DID EMANY EVER EXPRESSED THEIR INTENTIONS TO NEGOTIATE ON A WEEKEND?NEVER IN FACT RAY HERNANDEZ HAS ALWAYS SAID GIVE MY GUYS 2 HRS AND WE WILL BE ANY WHERE THEY WANT TO MEET. MYTH-EMANYS NEW PROPOSAL FOR START TIMES FOR SERVICE WORK IS ANOTHER ATTEMPT TO IMPOSE SHIFT WORK. FACT-THE EMANY PROPOSED FLEX TIME OF 6A.M. TO 12P.M. ELIMINATES ALMOST 8 HOURS OF POSSIBLE OVERTIME FROM EVERYONES PAY CHECK WHEN YOUR ON CALLBACKS OR PERFORMING MAINTENANCE AFTER HOURS THAT THE CUSTOMERS ARE PAYING FOR. MYTH-GPS WILL TRACK EMPLOYEES AND VEHICLES DURING OFF HOURS AND WILL BE USED AS A DISCIPLINE TOOL. FACT-OTIS ELEVATOR HAS REPEATEDLY TRACKED EMPLOYEES WHEN OFF DUTY IN THE PAST AND NEVER USED GPS TO BETTER SERVICE THEIR CUSTOMERS. MYTH-EMANYS HOISTING PROPOSAL TAKES WORK AWAY FROM LOCAL ONE. FACT-EMANYS MAIN GOAL IS TO MAINTAIN 1/3 OF THE ELEV. CONSTRUCTORS ON THE HIRING HALLS BENCH. THIS IS WHAT WE DONT WANT, WE THE UNION DECIDE IF SOME- THING NEEDS TO BE CHANGED- NOT EMANY. THERES ALWAYS AN UNDERLYING AND SECRET MOTIVE THAT BENEFITS EMANY WHEN THEY WANT TO CHANGE WHAT WE HAVE BEEN DOING FOR OVER 100 YEARS. MYTH-EMANYS WAGE PROPOSAL IS STILL INADEQUATE. FACT-LETS TAKE A LOOK. WHEN YOU AVERAGE THE WAGE AND FRINGE PACKAGES OF A PLUMBER, IRON WORKER, RIGGER, ELECTRICIAN,MACHINIST, WELDER AND SOMETIMES A PAINTER, WE THE UNION ARE SEVERELY UNDERPAID! (I THOUGHT THESE EXAMPLES WERE BETTER THAN STREET REPAVERS OR A DRYWALL HANGER )
FACT- LOCAL ONE IS THE REASON WHY TRADES ARE LABLED SKILLED OR NOT. NO OTHER SKILLED TRADE CAN BRAG OR BOAST WHAT THEY DO. LOCAL ONE, I.U.E.C. IS HERE FOR OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS-WORKING OR LOCKED OUT. DEAL WITH US NOW OR DEAL WITH US LATER.
INSPIRED BY LED ZEPPELIN- WHAT IS AND WHAT SHOULD NEVER BE
HANG IN THERE GUYS,BAD TIMES DONT LAST BUT LOCAL ONE IS HERE TO STAY

card number 8591 Comments: did i miss something while i was picketing and handing out hundreds of leaflets in midtown?? or was it when i was chasing scabs and taking pictures?? i thought TOW THE LINE and STAY STRONG meant 7-7-7 and NO GPS ,NO SHIFT WORK,NO HOISTING GIVEBACKS,, it seems we're moving in the wrong direction on all of these issues now that emany is starting to either feel some pressure or feel they've reached their magic dollar # and they want us back,,,,,with all due respect to the committee ,who i know are busting their tails to get us back to work,,i don't think after 8 weeks we should settle for less than we deserve,,,,,what we leave here on the table costs us for the next 20 years,,,,and if emany gets their foot in the door on any of these issues we'll be out the door again in 3 or 4 years for whatever they didn't get this time ,,,the 7 or 8 am starts that are in place now are more than enough flex time for them,,,,,,even if i don't agree with these different start times in service they're here and they're more than enough,,,,,and who's kidding who about this GPS?? we all know it's not meant for off hours as much as it going to be used during working hours with dire results,,,,,,
card number 1347 Comments: Hello brothers and sisters , lots of questions and alot of answers at tonights Union meeting. One thing that will NEVER BE OVERLOOKED!!!! Our President Ray Hernandez read for quite a long time , a list from individual members as well as Locals from around the country of the unbelievable financial support we have received from the rest of our brothers and sisters as well as all the Locals !!!!!!!!!!!! Rays exact words was the suppoort we are getting from around the country is tremendous!!!!!!! He was greeted with a LONG HARD AND LOUD standing ovation!!! Respectfully Submitted Brother Brian Link AKA captain america ..........LOCAL 1 is here to stay ALL FOR ONE , ONE FOR ALL.
card number 1548 Comments: If we are doing what we are paid to do, why does GPS matter?
card number 1179 Comments: Dear Brothers & Sisters: The trade will never be the same after this lockout. The convent has been broken. Dennis Redman said it tonight at the Union meeting. Bosses come and go the only thing that stay the same is the men and women sitting next you at the Union Meeting. Companies have been eaten up by the big companies. NON proprietary equipment is the way to go from now on. There is too much power in these big companies.
The Joe Neto's and Lerch Bates etc etc. have been pushing non proprietary equipment on all modernization jobs, now non proprietary equipment must get pushed on new construction jobs. The handcuffs must come off. We will win this. Stay Strong Brothers & Sisters.
Brother Tom Moore, Local One, IUEC
