card number 2278 Comments: To the local one negotiating committee, What an unbelievable job you guys are doing but its time to move on. You cant negotiate with people who dont want to negotiate. Emany does not want to negotiate and is playing this local for fools. Fools we are not, so lets move on. Ratify the contract! Enamy has three ridiculous proposals on the table and if we move on any one of them we lost the war. A Quote from the collective bargaining update page "Local One’s proposal for the use of GPS protects our members so tracking on off hours would be prohibited. " I dont think the concern of this membership for GPS is during off work hours. GPS is going to be used to track people during working hours. It sounds like GPS is being negotiated. This is exactly what Emany wants. Stop and take everything off the table. They will jump on this if we give it to them. We should not be negotiating to give anything up, we should be adding things to the table like more holidays and sick time. Emany is a bottomless pit when it comes to money so as I said before, move on. Spend time soliciting customers and to move their work to other local 1 companies. INSTALL A FURLOW SYSTEM NOW. Everyone will feel the same pain that way. What a wonderful idea and plan it was to have 60 percent of the union working but now its time for them to contribute to the fight. Not just $250 a month. A furlow system would show emany that employees work for the union, not the company. It would put food on everyones table, strengthen the union and let emany come to us rather then us going to them. I have lived eight weeks without a paycheck and I can go plenty long without those pieces of shit. This fight is about dignity and respect. Let us not forget that this contract has been negotiated already. We did not start at 7-7-7. We worked our way down from a lot higher package. 10 years ago local 3 negotiated a 18.5 percent package over 3 years. It was in the 90's when the inflation rate was flat. The inflation rate has been 2.8 for the last 5 years. A 21 percent increase over 3 years is fair, and just about allows you to keep living at the means you have become accustom to. It does not make your life better, it just keeps your head above water. Anything less would be like tying pieces of babbit to your ankles. After a while you start to sink. (you like that analogy). President Bush is our president because he got the majority of votes. Although I didnt vote for him and about 45 percent of the country didnt vote for him, he is still the president. Does that mean anything to this membership. Let us not lower our standards because the MINORITY wants us to. They are union busters. 60 percent of the companies believe we have a fair contract so move forward, not back wards. Unfortunately whether you like it or not there are some members out there that are not as strong as others. Because of financial reasons there are some members that are willing to accept emany proposals and go back to work and at the same time deteriorating our working conditions. The longer this goes on the weaker this membership gets. Thats a fact whether you like it or not and thats another good reason for furlows. Furlows will send a very strong message to Emany. A very strong message. The negotiating committee has to be strong. They have to be like parents with their children in a candy store. No matter how much the kid wants something you have to have discipline not to give into a crying child. I compare this to the membership if a contract of anything less then 7-7-7 GPS, hoisting,or Shift work is on the table. The membership might vote it in. If that happens its not the memberships fault, its the committee. Please dont negotiate, stand firm and slide our package down their throat. As I said before they are not there to negotiate, they have a specific agenda and it has nothing to do with good faith negotiating. If they get anything off of this package, we lost. Next item, If there are any individuals out there who have any creative ideas on ways of starting up your own companies and becoming a signatory company please reach out. Its a hard thing to do on your own but when resources are pooled together, anything can be done. One elevator at a time, 40 percent of the market becomes 39,38,37...0. To see all of these hard working men and woman trying to put food on there table because the were told they can`t come to work but the other 45 companies can ,THATS UNLAWFUL! To see all these hard working people not being able to make their monthly bills because they were told they can`t come to work THATS UNLAWFUL! The way I see it they are assaulting us with there unlawful conduct. What these companies see as unlawful some see as a way to expel anger and frustration because what was done to them was unjust WAKE UP EMANY SEE HOW YOUR TREATING YOUR "VALUED EMPLOYEES"

If Local 1 was with the rest of the country in the contracts, it would be hard for Management / Scabs to perform OUR WORK , they would have to take care of there own area's. Right now the rest of the country is working, so management is heading to NEW YORK. Also for all of the Managers that used to be members, should not be allowed to work in the field ever again, to get their pensions back up. You can't work both sides of the fence. Hows that for balls, you lock them out and tell them to stay in their rooms. I got this bit of advice from a Brother: idea... I know some of your local 1 members are great with computers....Currently UTX (United Technologies Corp. - Otis) is going to have a stock split (all owners of record of UTX stock by May 20th will be eligible for a two for one stock split effective June 20th). Blogging onto the stock web sites and reporting about the Otis strike in NYC an labor unrest will not favorably effect the stock and will definitely catch the attention of CEO George David who owns millions of shares of UTX. UTX's George David is listed in Forbes as the 5th highest paid CEO in US and I can assure you UTX is far from being the 5th largest corporation in terms of size and profitability. Many Otis employees have UTX Stock and access to stock chat lines and it is a great way to get the scare into UTX to settle. The only things UTC mutts understand is money. The only thing they worship is money. Hey George what are you going to tell your maker when you kick. I locked them out for their own good. Take a minute and look up your rep in your area.Tell them how important this bill is to the safety of the ridning public, sets safety standards for QUALIFIED WORKERS.
