Regarding Unemployment...I filed on Mar.21, as we were advised to do.  I called and reconfirmed every Monday thereafter.  After reading on this website that refiling was necessary, I called Unemployment and was told that the previous 7 weeks were meaningless but NYS doesn't care if we wanted to waste our time (this is a direct quote - our tax dollars at work).  Anyway, I had to go through the filing process all over again, and was told I had to call again on May 18  (the 1 week waiting period, again) and I would be eligible after that but it would take another 7-10 days to receive a partial check.  When I explained that that would bring us to 9 weeks, not 7, they just kept repeating their mantra "that's the law" with no explanation for the extra 2 weeks wait.  So anyone from NYS who thinks they filed in March, call and refile quickly because they don't backdate and the longer it takes you to file, the longer they take to send you any money.

P.S. :  Bobby S., give me a call.  I have to go in for back work.

Hey Kone guys, we caught two guys with a security guard working on Manhattan  side  of the SI ferry terminal.  I took there pictures and I will try and get them on the sight as soon as possible. I Got one name Larry Messita I think he was from IL. I was told there was a violation on the escalators the guys were talking on the phone and saying  how easy the escalators are to fix, But they were not able to get them running (lmao) so they will be returning so keep your eyes open. They ran like little girls when we took there pics. STAY STRONG WE WILL WIN THIS!

anyone filing for unemployment on line should also call 1-888-209-8124 and make sure your claim is being handled correctly by them some claims could be delayed if the wrong clerk was assigned the claim as told to me by  a representative there further delaying your claim

Dear Brothers & Sisters: I took my son to the fights friday night. Angel's son Joey Rios was fighting. My son watched a blue collar guys approach to fighting. He was in shape and he fought all eight rounds and he won the fight. So life lessons are; come ready to go the distance, be in shape and know your trade. Local One, will go the distance. We know are trade and we are ready to fight the whole fight. So let your scab bosses know and your local one team know, you are ready to go the distance to win this important fight.

Nothing ever comes easy to working men and women. So fight we must for a better life.

Be strong.

the money it would take to post a full page ad in a local newspaper is a ridiculous amount,,and for every one we take enemy would probably post 2 or 3,,,,,the problem with this is we know how full of crap they are but the press and public would eat it up,,,,,the fact that we've lost money in our salary and annuities during the last 3 years of our last contract would mean very little to anyone but us...we're earning far less than we deserve.... enemy is a bottomless pit when it comes to spending money on things like that,,,,,they'll spend it on anything besides us,,,,,try getting a helper or someone to give you a hand when we return to work while right now the scabs are running around with security and at least one other lowlife (office personal, family member, neighbor) to assist them.... i applaud the committee for trying to get creative to solve the mess enemy created but it's pretty simple to me 7-7-7,,,,,no givebacks,,,all of a sudden enemy wants "their"employees back ,,what a farce,,,would it have something to do with unemployment checks right around the corner?? or access to OUR annuity money?? or maybe the buildings that haven't thrown them out yet are finally getting fed up this lockout created by them,, or maybe somebody in management just realized his ass is on the line for all those lost contracts? i know it's a tough situation for all of us right now but i'm not looking to make it easy for enemy after 8 weeks of this lockout,,,,,,the deal that was agreed upon by the rest of the companies is what we all deserve and will get by standing strong and together

There are around 3000 members in this local. Most of us know somebody who is working in the locked out, scab maintained buildings. Ask them to go to their building manager and tell them they know untrained people are working on the equipment, and if they get stuck, they will sue everyone, including the manager. See how fast he/she will call emany or change companies. There will, unfortunately, be an accident soon. Let us hope it is not the riding public that suffers.

Someone needs to take an add out in the Post, Daily News and the Bergen Evening Record let the public know exactly whats going on. I had a house full of relatives here in Florida this weekend all of them from The Island and Jersey and none of them knew what you guy's were going through. Stay strong, were all behind you.

It is almost 5:00 pm on Monday and no new information has been posted on this website regarding the negotiations of the past Thursday and Friday. Why is it that Local 1 does not keep us updated immediately after these negotiations as does Emany?

Why is it we have a lawyer who is suppose to be negotiating our unemployment, yet he tells us nothing about having to re-file our claim? We have already waited since March 17 and now we have to wait again!

I don't understand how any of us are gaining from holding out for .95 % (or .32 cents). We have all been out of work for 7 weeks (with a loss of an average $10,000). If we stay out of work for much longer our losses will never be made up by what you think you we are gaining.

Why are you not posting exactly what is on the table and asking your "brothers" what they think of the offers and let them vote since we are the ones who are not receiving a weekly paycheck or unemployment?
