I know I already posted a message today but I just got home and I picked up the newspaper and noticed that the average price of an apartment in Manhattan today is 1.2 million, up 23 percent since December. EMANY tells everyone how well we're all doing so I wonder how many of us are buying them. Me personally, I'm a little short. Maybe next year. Stay strong and remember, the only way we can win this is together. I just want to say thanks for all the support we're getting from our brothers and sisters around the country.

     We got media coverage in tonights(fri,apr1) Staten Island Advance.  There is a story that tells of the four escalators that are shut down at the recently renovated Manhattan side Staten Island Ferry terminal.  Out of five units maintained by Kone, only the hydro remains in service.  Also the elevator and escalator on the Staten Island side have not been completed, preventing a new wing there from opening.  The article goes on to explain the reason for this is due to LOCAL ONE workers being locked out by EMANY, and briefly describes the issues.

     Lets keep up the fight!

I would like to thank 104.3 radio station for the constant updates on the "rat" sitings. 

We would like to thank Local #1 & Local #5 Brick layers and Allied Crafts, and Local #66 Laborers for the use of their RATS, they are doing a great job at Schindler & Otis offices and at GIANT'S STADIUM.  Pictures of the Giant rat at the stadium can be seen in the photo album. 

We are getting good turn-outs in Jersey, but we need to see NEW faces.  If you unsure of where to go in Jersey, you can always go to Jersey City, B.J.'s/Pep Boy's parking lot on Washington Blvd in the Newport area.  We will be there everyday (m-f) at 7:30 a.m.

Hello brothers and sisters , while I have been out the last few weeks I am Amazed at how little our customers and riding public are aware of THE TRUE FACTS !!!! Just a few responses . 1) Why would we go on strike for 25% over 3 years? 2) Why wouldn't we be willing to assist our COMPANIES to improve dispatching? When i simply hand them the flyers . WITH THE TRUE FACTS THEY ARE SHOCKED AND AMAZED!!!!! From a single car job to a multiple unit residence job, they all add up to OUR WORK ! We will continue to educate the public and our customers of the true facts.GET OUT !STAY INFORMED! Dont go to blockbuster and get amovie , get off your ass and get involved!!!! Local 1 is here to stay . I know that the Local 1 office has been swarmed with getting our union cards out to US. But let me tell you with all the propaganda that we are getting from the Big 3 (getting smaller everday) companies .THE BEST PIECE OF MAIL I HAVE RECEIVED LATELY was my IUEC QUARTERLY WORKING CARD!!!!! # 1347 Never been more proud ! Brothers and Sisters, The RALLY at Kennedy Airport set for Monday, April 4th is CANCELED due to Security reasons. The Port Authority has pulled our permit and will issue us another permit when they find a secure place to put us. They will probably put us in Newark Airports parking lot. They also told me that our RAT is a danger to the public. WOW!!! I tried to explain to the Police that the RAT is not real and it won't bite anyone. They did not believe me. We will set up another date and notify our members when the RALLY is set.

Hello brothers and sisters,

        I just got back from the rally today at Giant Stadium, what a great day it was.  The support from fellow unions  was overwhelming.  It is great to know that so many people support us and want to help, and if you don't believe that just ask the people sitting in traffic as the honked their horns and raised their fists in support, while they passed the 20 ft tall rat standing along the highway.  I just want to thank the other unions who stopped by, for someone new in this business, it made me realize just how strong of a union family we have.  Stay strong and keep fighting.

Why is it that ThyssenKrupp,Fujitec and all of the independents can live with this contract? They're competing in the same market as EMANY. Stay strong and stay together.

We defiantly have made an impact at EINSTEIN\MONTEFIORE HOSPITALS. So for those of you that think handing out flyers is a waste of time think again your wrong. I was told the PRESIDENT of OPERATIONS for MONTEFIORE HOSPITAL was entrapped for 2 HOURS yesterday while the FIRE DEPARTMENT had to get him out and THE SCABS stood by and watched.
