In a previous post I stated that since the lockout began I've been having a great deal of afternoon sex.  Since reading the latest ENAMY proposals I realize that the screwing I'm getting ain't worth the screwing I'm getting.

Multinational Companies Profit from Forced Labor in Burma

In Burma, on any given day, several hundred thousand men, women, children and elderly people are forced to work against their will by the country’s military rulers. Forced labor can include building army camps, roads, bridges, railroads and other facilities.

Refusal to work may lead to being detained, tortured, raped or killed. Military officers issue written forced labor orders every day. There are only two ways to escape forced labor: paying for a replacement, or, when the money runs out, fleeing before the army comes to burn your village and kill you or your family.

While gross violation of human rights by Burma has aroused some worldwide protests, including economic sanctions, the ICFTU has compiled a list of 437 multinational companies that continue doing business with that country. Among the American well-known firms on that list are General Motors, American Express, Caterpillar and OtisElevator!!!HOW MUCH LOWER CAN THESE SICK BASTARDS GO TO MAKE A PROFIT

ON THE SUFFERING OF WOMAN AND CHILDREN!!!

TO YOU BROTHERS/SISTERS

SITTING AROUND WAITING FOR YOUR NEW CONTRACT TO MAGICALY MAIL ITSELF TO YOUR HOUSE GET INVOLVED BEFORE ITS TO LATE.WE MAY NOT BE IN BURMA BUT IF THIS DOES'NT SUM UP WHAT THEIR MORALS AND PHILOSOPHY ARE NOTHING CAN.

CALL YOU SHOP STEWARDS! THEIR EFFORTS ARE NOTICED EVERYDAY AND MUCH APPRECIATED.

    Unemployment

After Trump Tower this afternoon I made my call to unemployment as we were instructed. I then made a few more calls and was able to get a "real" person on the phone to find out where we sat with our unemployment insurance. I was told that, as of now we will not begin to collect for 49 days! WRONG ANSWER ! So, I asked who I could talk to because I disagreed. She said " I guess someone in the state office". So, I did just that. I wrote letters to Governor Pataki, Mayor Bloomberg and Commissioner Hanley. If you go to NYC.gov you will be able to e-mail them all! So, I say " start e-bombing and let's be heard! STAY STRONG! NO CREW NO SHIP!

To all my friends at Boston Prop., SL Green, Fisher Bros., Cushman Wakefield, Orda Mgt., Marriott, Tudor Realty, etc. - do me a favor, let your friends on the N.Y. real estate board know the facts. We (local1) were locked out during contract negotiations, a lockout that was most likely premeditated. You, along with us are paying the price for this lockout. If we aren't getting paid, then why should they ? You dispute most of your bills when we are all working, why in the world would you be sympathetic now ? Do you think you're getting what you're paying for ?

Looking forward to your anticipated support so we can all get back to work. Thanks Rob Monforte

Brothers and Sisters:

I would like to thank all of the other Locals that have come to our great city to fight this fight with us. You know we will all be there for you in 2007 if you need it. To all of you that have sent a post to our page we thank you also. It makes us feel great that you are all out there for us.

All the Brother and Sisters that have been on the line every day thank you. We need you all there it shows the 3 big scum bags what we are all about. The only problem is that there are alot of "Brothers and Sisters" sitting home on there asses doing nothing and when you call them they say "I was waiting for someone to call me". Bull sh!@ all you have to do is call the hall or look on this web site and you will know what to do. The only problem is you want everyone else to fight this fight for you. We will not forget who you are when we go back to work. I know you will know when to go back to work and we all know how that will happen. You friend in the office that you did not want to upset will tell you. I know none of them that don't show read this but it had to be said.

This fight is making us stronger as a union and the few that are standing on the side jump in you will see how good it feels. All the stewards are doing a great job keep up the good work. The Brothers and Sisters out there every day keep up the fight you are doing great.

See you all tomorrow.

IUEC Local 45

Business Representative

Bill Richards IUEC # 55013

Union membership means several things to me. It means that I took an oath of membership. When I agreed to that oath, as we all have sworn to, I said that I would be faithful to do at least a couple of things. First I was saying that I would abide by the Contract Agreement negotiated by the IUEC and Companies on my behalf. Second, that I would also abide by the Constitution and By Laws of both the IUEC and Local 45. Third I understood that I was joining an organization of likeminded members that were pledging to abide by the same rules promising to lookout for the best interests of one another. In return for my loyalty I understood that the IUEC and local union would do their best to provide me with an opportunity to make a fair living wage, have decent benefits and the ability to pursue a career with both pride and dignity as a union member. I believe that the IUEC has done a very good job of upholding their end of the bargain over these past thirty-eight years. I believe that I was right in my understanding then and that it is still the right attitude to maintain toward the IUEC, the local union and the membership.

Since I first took that original oath back on April 17, 1967 I have taken another oath a time or two as I began to be an officer in this local union. Along with the responsibility of an office I understood and agreed with the concept that I was also saying that I was willing to serve that local union. It has been my hope that by serving this local union I could in some way give back to this organization that, I feel, has given my family a lot over the years. Especially now having had the opportunity to serve as your business representative I am more convinced than ever of the worth of this union.

However, I am disturbed by some of the animosity that seems to prevail somewhat nowadays toward this union. I am not in the least surprised to hear this from the company representatives but I fail to understand why I would hear it from some of the membership. Have you become so foolish to believe their propaganda that they have been promoting for the last several years? They know this for certain, if they can pit union member against union member for whatever reason, they are in control. If they cannot, they are not in control, we are. The companies being in control means they make you do what they want, the union being in control does not mean that we can do whatever we want, it simply means that together we can make them abide by the contract agreement they have negotiated with us. I cannot do this alone, no one can. It requires your help and dedication to your union. Are you living up to your end of the bargain? Wake up, before it is too late.

If you think that you are better off standing alone, then one day you will certainly find yourself alone!

Once again THANK YOU Local One for being the beacon of light in the dark!

Today after returning from SCAB TOWER I encountered a couple of scabs working at the LIRR Jamaica station. When asked who they worked for they said Schindler. So i told them we were locked out and asked for his card. His response was "yeah I got a card, lots of cards. I got credit cards and library cards." after calling them a scabs and a pieces of s**t. My father and I decided to call Bob Stork. Bob informed us to get a camera and try to find out who they were. Well once we got the camera, we found them high tailing it out of there with their police escort in tow. When we finally caught them, they hung their heads and covered up their faces in shame. All I gotta say is that I hope we catch these scabs and give 'em what they deserve.

                                                         KEEP UP THE FIGHT!!!

Fifteen people on a picket line? Doesn't seem fair. Wonder if we could fight that in court. Just a thought. Stay strong and remember, the only way we can win this is together. Don't sit home. Be out there, doesn't matter where, but be out there.

Thanks to all the brothers and sisters that came out to Morristown N.J. Schindler corporate headquarters. I wanted to thank Local 66 Laborers on Long Island and Steven Flanagan for the use of their rat ,ours is very busy these days. A special thanks to Jimmy Walker on only allowing us to have only 15 people at a picket line in New Jersey, we were able to cover so many more jobs to get the truth out it really streamlined our operation. If they are taking us to court on how we picket than it is definitely working.

In Solidarity,

Bill Bulger Jr.
