After the rally at TRUMP, we headed downtown "scab" hunting. We hit a couple bldgs to see how bad things are...and they are bad. In one of the bldgs we saw a Schindler Supt Al Sarno, working with what looked to be "security" at his side. We waved to him, we know him for 15-20 yrs, he saw us, we waved at  him to come out of the bldg. He hardly acknowledged our presence, never mind came out to see and talk to us. I found it quite ironic, and was quite angry about this. When we need Supervisors, Salesmen, Branch Managers to come to our jobs....they are never around....NOW,  they are on our jobs...very ironic....and very angry..will not forget this slight

It was a great turnout at Trump Tower this morning.  When our negotiation committee goes back to the bargaining table they know that they have the support of the entire membership.

   We've got to keep the pressure on and we've got to let our negotiators know that we stand behind them, we support them and we know that if we keep showing this amount of dedication we can not lose;

7-7-7!

NO GPS!

NO Shift work!

NO change to our hoisting!

Charles Ferrara....  I was told by NJ Unemployment that since this is a labor dispute we are ineligible for unemployment. We cant dispute this individually. Local 1 must dispute the claim for us.

just a little update on the"highly skilled" labor that's been brought in to try to do our jobs. one building 2 out of 4 high rise cars shut down for 2 days ,they need manuals or someone who knows the equipment, another building with only 2 cars had some hick from tennesse and another genius from schindler in morristown and they couldn't even reset an overload,,i wonder if emany will be putting that in their next bs letter,,,,,,speaking of which next time you get some of that trash in the mail send it right back to them and tell them what they can do with it ,,don't waste our time with that bullshit,,,,,

Called unemployment this morning.  I was told that the state (nj) is still "trying to determine  the eligibility of our claims, since it is a strike/lockout".    I was told to call next week to check the status of my claim.  Has anybody else encountered this problem?

To all fellow members currently locked out, do not give up on unemployment . As of today, this issue is still being reviewed.Keep up with your phone calls (888-209-8124) , or e-mails (www.labor.state.ny.us). I spoke with a representative from gov. Pataki's office today to explain to them the difference between a strike and a lockout - feel free to call and express yourself - Executive Chamber (518)474-8390. Pass the word along , we have nothing to lose.

Dear brothers and sisters , what a great idea with signing in and presenting your card #. Would also highly recommend if you are manning a picket line , set up a sign in sheet with , 1) Sign in sheet 2) Jobsite Location 3) Members card # 4)AND MOST IMPORTANTLY HAVE THEM SHOW YOU THEIR PAID UP CARD!!!!! This is a personal PET PEAVE for me but brothers and sisters it is a priviledge to have a LOCAL 1 UNION CARD. If a brother or sister refuses to show their PAID UP union card, then they dont belong . When we go back to work and a brother or sister does not show you his/her UNION card they dont belong working either! As far as jobsites on Long Island and Queens tommorrow we have our members mobilized all over we will be at Citicorp, Long Iland City .Queens Center Mall, Queens Blvd. Elmhurst. Also will have our picket line at South Entrance @ Stony Brook Hospital, please see brother Tom Woods when you stop in. Wanted to just personally give a shout out To Craig Rief at Jobsite in NYC ( Sloan Kettering) I believe. Craig I knew when I met you 15 years ago you were cut from good cloth! I would like to thank Ray Hernandez and the negoitating committee for great leadership and support. We are behind you all the way!The companies have no right to treat us like this.We work hard and make them plenty of profit every year. The companies have let us down in a big way!It is amusing that a year ago Otis raided some of Schindler's premier resident jobs. Now they are buddies.Food for thought.

I applaud Rob Morteforte for standing up for what he believes in.

Local 1 brothers and sisters. We have Superior leadership.Everything will  work out.We know how to work hard and be successful everyday.May God bless all Local 1 members and their families.

Stay strong,

Steven Di Raimondo

Brothers and Sisters, I want to thank all the Brothers and Sisters that were on the line at Sloan today. Your Shop Stewards did an outstanding job. I want to really thank the other trades that showed us their support. It made me proud to be union today! The one guy who crossed the line and spit at us will be walking up the stairs on every job for the rest of his career. He is going to be in some shape for the summer!!! Keep hanging tough, we are gaining alot of support from the building managers and construction firms. They are reading right through EMANY's bullshit. Stay STRONG!!!

Brothers and Sisters,

On behalf of myself, Rief, and all fellow coworkers that were working at Memorial Sloan Kettering before being locked out by OTIS, we would like to thank everyone who came out this morning to support us.

Special thanks to BA Freddy McCourt and Mike Halpin who were out especially early to help get things going. Also, thanks to the gentlemen from Local 8 who were there to support us.

It was brought to my attention today that members from other unions view this website as well and I would like to say thanks to all those who honored our line today.

With the utmost pride and respect,
