Comments: We should have seen this coming.All the small companies being bought up. We should have taken steps back before it happened. Our previous employers(EMANY), have negotiated with you a $contract$ to cover your needs of callback, preventive maintenance, and repair. On this ninth day that we can't perform this service for you, I wonder about your feelings on this whole matter. I understand that in our absence, EMANY has, in good faith, given you a BODY. Yes, a BODY has replaced what you are $paying$ for! Can you, after nine days, have forgotten about ENTRAPMENT, PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE, and REPAIR? Do you think that a BODY who is afraid to answer a telephone could SAFELY free some one from a stuck elevator? Do you see that BODY taking units out of service to perform maintenance? Does that BODY know anything about schedueling repairs? Remember customers, you are $paying$ for a service. You know the loyalty and the work ethic that the Local 1 work force has given you, and you deserve nothing less. So, our dear customers, for the sake of SAFETY, as well as your contracts, lets get EMANY back to the table. Comments: Just stopped home to see my family (my wife and 2 children) . Wanted to thank all the brothers who came out to South Nassau Communities Hospital to join our informational picket line. Comments: Thanks to all the brothers and sisters who manned the lines at Sloan Kettering Hospital today. The other trades honored our line and the job was shut down. Turner Construction saw just how union NYC is. Their CEO was there, met with McCourt and said he would talk to Emany to get back to the table. Thanks to the locals across the country who've been on the lines with us, we'll be there for you. Tomorrow we can tell the Donald how we feel about his support.

Comments: We at the IUEC SONS OF LIBERTY of Local 2 support our brothers at Local 1. Your steadfast determination is an inspiration to all members of the IUEC across the country. Although we do battle everyday against our own tyranny at Local 2, however it is you that are putting your lives, livelihood and liberty on the line and we salute your fortitude. Remember, because of corporate greed, the proper maintenance of the elevator equipment has not been performed to an adequate level in decades. If 1000's of qualified elevator technicians have trouble keeping up with the elevator problems, surely a few hundred unqualified supervisory personnel cannot and will not keep up with the demand. In buildings where waiting 20 seconds for an elevator is unacceptable, then what would a wait of 5 minutes be? Soon, these loyal customers will be deserting the three Axis Elevator Powers like the rats leaving a sinking ship. Otis, Kone and Schindler have struck a mighty iceberg (IUEC Local 1) they are listing badly, will they sink like the Andria Doria or Titanic or can they still be salvage like the Normandie, it is up to them! The corporations will play their petty games with the lives and welfare of their employees until their actuaries decide that their stock valuations will have a negative effect on the portfolios of the corporate plutocrats. Remember as these CEO's are jetting to Pebble Beach to play a round of golf or to Bermuda for the weekend they do so on the backs of labor. The three Axis Elevator Powers will tell you that 'shift work' will allow for more mechanics to be employed and they are correct, but only in the short term. What will happen is the reallocation of labor, an eventually it will be determined the less labor will needed in the market, because of the perceived efficiencies of shift work by the corporate brain trust and I use the word 'brain trust' advisably. Most of the Axis Elevator Powers are convinced it is marketing, rather than service that keeps their customers satisfied. The corporate spin -meisters will tell you that their new rigging plan is safer, because eliminating or restructuring the human element is part of their master plan. Their eventual goal is a 90% outsourcing of all jobs to Third World countries like India, Cambodia and possibly Iraq after the multi-national corporations rape that country of their oil and other natural resources. The Axis Elevator Powers will shackle workers in front of a computer screen twenty hours a day for the purpose of resetting and monitoring functions of your elevators for just pennies a day. To the corporate plutocrats for future reference, remember there is a fine line between peace and anarchy. Otis, Kone and Schindler say GPS will enhance employee safety and will only be used for altruistic means. I honestly believe these corporate benevolent societies have the best interest of their employees at heart, just as Joseph Stalin had the best interest of his people when he deployed the KGB and NKVD during the Purges. We say to the Axis Elevator Powers, 'We will fight you in the hoistways! We will fight you in the machine rooms! We will fight you in the Pits! We shall never, ever give up! If the IUEC should last for 1000 years - they will say this was their finest hour!' Hold that line!!! - IUEC SONS OF LIBERTY
Comments: I'm amazed at how such highly educated people, can lack common sense.You create slogans, programs, and campaign on a daily basis to put your EMANY partners out of business, but you view and treat us as the enemy. You lock us out, and screw the heart of your business, and don't expect to be screwed when this is over ? Your justification for your issues are job safety, but you refuse to hire apprentices to create a growing safe work environment. You have lost all respect of your workers, and your customers are not to far behind. You see things like respect, pride, loyalty, and common sense all have to be earned, but you need common sense to realize this. (sort of a catch 22) Take a minute from your day and realize what you have created here, the money you save, if any, will be minute in comparison to what it's going to cost you.
